RE-DEPLOYABLE RENEWABLE ENERGY HUB OFFSETS DIESEL GENERATION
MODULAR - SCALABLE - 5 YEAR ROI
THE CHALLENGE

The client required the design of an economically viable solar renewable energy solution for the Yamarna mining exploration camp to reduce reliance on diesel for power generation and the resultant greenhouse gas emissions and costs involved (maintenance and fuel transport to the sites remote location). Furthermore the solution required minimum impact on the environment, future expansion capacity, easily movable infrastructure and to provide a pay back period under 5 year.

OUR SOLUTION
Unlimited Energy Australia conducted a feasibility study (Energy Optimisation Plan) quantifiably demonstrating the efficacy (operationally, economically and environmentally) of our custom designed renewable energy saving solution for the camp.
The custom designed energy hub consists of a fully standalone hybrid PV and Tesvolt Lithium Ion Battery System with a 187kWh surface mounted solar PV system coupled to the camp’s grid infrastructure. The smart grid is energised by solar PV and battery inverters utilising the existing diesel generators as backup.

The entire hub has been uniquely designed to be scalable, modular and re-deployable (both the solar array and battery storage hub) allowing it to be easily expanded or moved to a new site to provide benefits over the full service life.
These innovations have been designed to overcome the limitations of traditional renewable energy infrastructure in the mining sector specifically. In temporary applications, such as the Yamarna exploration camp, the re-deployability of the hub provides an excellent value proposition; negates the risks of investing in significant infrastructure during the early cycles of mine development and meets the need for flexibility especially during the exploration stages.
The exploration camp utilises 100% renewable energy during the day and charge the surplus energy into the 408kWh battery storage - offsetting between 70 - 80% of the camps diesel consumption producing in excess of 1 megawatt hours of renewable energy every day.
